{"id":165,"date":"2011-12-31T01:17:00","date_gmt":"2011-12-31T06:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/juliesondradecker.com\/?p=165"},"modified":"2012-08-21T17:02:54","modified_gmt":"2012-08-21T21:02:54","slug":"results-of-querying-bad-fairy-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/juliesondradecker.com\/?p=165","title":{"rendered":"Results of Querying: Bad Fairy 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em><\/em>I only just started querying for <em>Bad Fairy <\/em>in November of 2011, so this isn&#8217;t going to be a big update, but this is how I&#8217;m doing on queries so far:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Agents queried: 9.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Query rejections: 6<\/li>\n<li>Non-responses (so far): 3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One of the guys I queried had actually represented a fairy tale retelling I particularly enjoyed, so I mentioned it in my query.\u00a0 He said this to me:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I appreciate your thinking of me, but I actually don&#8217;t normally care for fairy tales, or for works with the basis feel of a fairy tell, or retellings. \u00a0Mercedes Lackey is an exception because I just have an affinity for her work and I&#8217;d be happy to read her grocery lists, but otherwise, this book is probably not a good match for my tastes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Heh, &#8220;happy to read her grocery lists.&#8221;\u00a0 Maybe someday someone will say that about me?<\/p>\n<p>Planning to continue the querying streak in 2012!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I only just started querying for Bad Fairy in November of 2011, so this isn&#8217;t going to be a big update, but this is how I&#8217;m doing on queries so far: Agents queried: 9.
